On the upswing.

Well, the plan couldn't have gone much more smoothly. My post-NYC strategy was to try to get in to any halfway-decent NJ school district as a sub and then try to put myself in position for a long-term job if one would ever open up. 3 months after leaving the evil NYC school system, that's exactly what happened.

I just finished up a successful 5-week stint at a local middle school and the end result is that they want to bring me back full-time for this fall. Pending some paperwork that I need to get together, I will once again be employed as a math teacher. For the first time, I think I landed in the right place - I got more compliments in five weeks than I did in six months in the city.
